Frequently Asked Questions
How do we charge for our services?
Billing and payment are managed through a platform called Headway. Currently, we accept only Aetna insurance. If you have Aetna, your billing process will be streamlined through Headway. For those without Aetna, our fees are as follows:
—Initial Consultation: $450
—Regular Follow-Up Appointments: $300
—Extended Follow-Up Appointments (exceeding 30 minutes): $450
If you have other insurance, we will provide you with a “superbill” to help you claim your out-of-network benefits. Please check with your insurance provider for specifics on your coverage.
Where are we practicing?
We serve patients residing in Maryland and Washington, D.C. If you live in these areas, you can access our services.
Are in-person visits offered?
At this time, we do not offer routine in-person appointments. Our services are conducted via telehealth for your convenience and safety. In the future, patients prescribed controlled substances (such as Adderall or Klonopin) may need to be seen in person at least once, as required by law. Currently, these requirements are temporarily waived.
What should I do if I am feeling so bad that I think I might hurt myself or someone else?
We are very sorry that you are feeling this way. If you believe you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room or hospital. As an outpatient clinic, we are not equipped to handle emergencies and cannot ensure your immediate safety. Your well-being is our utmost priority, so seeking urgent care is crucial.
How can I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, please send us an email with your contact info, we’ll reach out to you to schedule a brief consultation. We strive to offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs.
What should I prepare for my initial consultation?
For your initial consultation, please have any relevant medical records, a list of current medications, and any prior mental health evaluations available. This information will help us understand your history and provide the best possible care.
What is telehealth and how does it work?
Telehealth allows you to meet with your psychiatrist virtually through a secure video platform. You will receive a link to join the session at your scheduled appointment time. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and a private, quiet space for your session.
